titleOfInvention | Natural rubber compositions |
abstract | A rubber composition comprises a natural rubber vulcanized to a content of from 0.1 to 0.5 per cent of combined sulphur and a rubber extender oil. The extender oil may be an unsaturated highly aromatic hydrocarbon obtained in the refining of petroleum consisting mainly of multi-ring compounds having alkyl side chains, the rings being aromatic, naphthenic or both. In an example, concentrated latex was compounded with dispersions of zinc oxide, sulphur and sodium diethyl dithiocarbamate, so that for every 100 parts of rubber the mixing contained 1.08 parts of sulphur. Sundex oil was then added and the mixture coagulated, washed and dried. Specifications 691,608, [Group IV (a)], 702,670, 709,991, 713,531, 723,897 and 723,898 are referred to. |
