titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to heteropolymeric resin compositions and their preparation |
abstract | Polymers of sulphur dioxide and an unsaturated organic material are stabilized by adding to the resin, e.g. as a latex, tin, tin hydroxide, tin oxide or a tin salt excluding tin sulphide. The unsaturated organic material may be butadiene, isoprene, octadiene, cyclohexadiene, 1-butene, 2-butene, propylene, isobutylene, pentenes, hexenes, cyclohexene, vinylacetylenes, styrene, alphamethylstyrene, alpha-chlorostyrene, vinyl chloride, vinyl bromide, vinyl acetate, or allyl ethyl ether. Tin salts mentioned are stannous or stannic halides, e.g. chlorides, phosphates, sulphates, oxalates, tartrates, and salts of carboxylic acids containing up to 24 carbon atoms in the molecule. |
