titleOfInvention Process for printing textile materials
abstract Textile materials of cellulose, cellulose acetate, nylon, wool or silk are printed with a composition comprising a dyestuff, a thickening agent and a sulpholane, e.g., tetrahydrothiophene dioxide or 2, 4-dimethyl-tetrahydrothiophene dioxide. The sulpholane may be used together with another printing assistant such as the triethyltrimethylene-triamine described in Specification 207,499, [Class 2(iii)]. Examples are given of the printing of (1) and (2) cotton with a vat dyestuff and dimethylsulpholane followed by oxidizing, (3) to (6) cotton with an isothiouronium dyestuff and dimethylsulpholane in the presence of lactic acid, followed by steaming, (7) cellulose acetate or nylon with an acetate type dyestuff and dimethylsulpholane followed by steaming, (8) cellulose acetate or nylon with a soluble acetate dye and dimethylsulpholane followed by steaming, (9) the previous example is repeated without the steaming, (10) and (11) cellulose acetate with a diaminomethoxy-anthraquinone dye and dimethylsulpholane with and without steaming, (12) cotton with a mixture of a stabilized diazonium compound and a coupling component, in the presence of dimethylsulpholane, turkey red oil and urea, followed by acid steaming, (13) chlorinated wool or silk with an acid dye, dimethylsulpholane and ammonium oxalate, followed by steaming, (14) to (16) cotton or spun viscose with an imino-isoindoline in the presence of sulpholane and copper acetate with or without formamide and triethanolamine, followed by steaming or baking and treatment with formic acid solution. Specifications 609,944, 609,947 and 633,160 also are referred to.
