titleOfInvention | Improvements in and relating to electrical distribution boards |
abstract | In an electrical distribution board (see Groups XXXVI and XXXVII) in which bus-bars &c. are embedded in a body of insulating material, the material comprises 36 per cent of a resinous material such as polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer thereof such as a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, 27 per cent of a resinous plasticizer such as polybasic acids esterified with polyhydric alcohols or styrene polymers, and 18 per cent of a plasticizer such as di-octyl phthalate, di-butyl phthalate, dihexyl phthalate, together with 8 per cent of a stabiliser such as lead stearate, lead silicate, antimony oxide, lead phosphate, blue lead or mixtures thereof, and 10 per cent of a filler such as calcium carbonate. Other proportions may be used. In manufacture of the board as disclosed in Specification 695,922, the bus-bars &c. are immersed in the liquid plastic composition at atmospheric temperature and the temperature is then raised to 180 DEG C. to cause permanent hardening of the composition. |
