abstract | A fungicidal composition comprises a dithiocarbamate or a copper compound or a mixture of both and a minor percentage, preferably not more than 5 per cent by weight, of a phosphoric acid ester of the following formula <FORM:0692925/VI/1> R1 being a cresyl, phenyl, xylenyl or naphthyl radical, and the identical substituents R2 being either a hydrogen atom or a cresyl, phenyl, xylenyl or naphthyl radical, or R1 and R2 both being a chlorophenyl radical. Specified diothiocarbamates are zinc, ferric and copper dimethyl dithiocarbamate, and zinc and sodium ethylene bis dithiocarbamates. Specified copper compounds are cuprous oxide, copper oxychloride, copper-8-quinolinoleate, Bordeaux mixture and Burgundy mixture. Specified phosphoric acid esters are triptenyl phosphate, tricresyl phosphate, trichlorphenyl phosphate, trixylenyl phosphate, mono-phenyl phosphate, diphenylmonocresyl phosphate, and diphenyl mono-b -naphthylphosphate. Other specified additions include chalk, bentonite, green sulphur, sulphite lye, fuller's earth and sulphonated compounds. The compositions may be in the form of dusts, wet-table powders, or aqueous emulsions or suspensions. The Provisional Specification describes preparations in which instead of copper compounds or dithiocarbamates, other fungicidal compounds such as thiocyano dinitrobenzene or tetramethyl thiuram disulphide are used. |
