titleOfInvention Casting of -a-chloroacrylic ester polymers
abstract 692,406. Impregnated paper; protein coated paper and cellulose. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. Dec. 10, 1951. [Dec. 27, 1950] No. 28884/51. Drawings to Specification. Classes 96 and 140. [Also in Group V] Adhesive closures for moulds used in castpolymerizing sheets of acrylic resin (see Group V) are made from strips of cellulosic material, e.g. filter paper, parchment or regenerated cellulose coated with an adhesive protein deposited from a film forming solution of the protein in a volatile solvent. Suitable proteins are the watersoluble skleroproteins such as gelatin or glue, and the prolamines which are soluble in alcoholic solvents e.g. zein, gliadine or hordeine. The protein is applied in the form of a filmforming neutral solution. Gelatin dissolved in boiling water or zein, titurated with methanol, and dissolved in chloroform, nitromethane or glycol monomethyl ether may be used. The strips may be coated twice an interval of 5 minutes being allowed between coatings.
