abstract | 692,271. Cigarette paper &c. HIVAG HANDELS-UND INDUSTRIE-VERWALTUNGSAKT.-GES. Aug. 29, 1950. [Aug. 29, 1949] No. 21300/50. Class 96. Paper for cigarettes, for wrapping cigars &c. is made by fermenting vegetable materials e.g. ribs of tobacco leaves, or other tobacco waste, or plants such as coltsfoot which may have been previously crushed &c., leaching or lixiviating with water &c. e.g. after removal of colouring- matter, grinding or crushing the solid vegetable residue e.g. using edge-runners, suspending the ground &c. material to which other cellulosic material may be added, optionally swelling e.g. in dilute soda lye for 24 hours at 18 to 25‹C., forming into a thin web, drying, e.g. at 60 to 70‹C. using heated rollers, hot air, infra red radiation, or electric resistance heating and allowing for shrinkage during drying, the paper being then calendered'and embossed if necessary, and may simulate leaves. Dyestuffs, perfumes, or combustion-improving substances may be added. |
