titleOfInvention New condensation products of the sugars with derivatives of aesculetol
abstract Osides of 4-alkyl-aesculetols which have vitamin P activity are obtainable by etherification in 7-position of the following compound <FORM:0684675/IV (b)/1> R1 being alkyl, followed by treating with an acylated sugar, and dis-acylation, if desired freeing the second phenolic group by hydrolysis. In an example, 4-methyl-aesculetol is benzylated in position 7, converted to the oside of tetra-acetyl glucose, and dis-acylated to give the 6-glucoside of 4-methyl-7-benzyl-aesculetol; the benzyl group may be removed after.
