titleOfInvention Process for the production of a caramel powder preparation and of tablets or other formed products therefrom
abstract 667,910. Caramel. WINKEL, G. May 1, 1950, No. 10659/50. Class 28 (i). The difficultly soluble non-toxic salts of higher solid fatty acids, e.g. in proportions less than 5 per cent and preferably about 1 per cent, are incorporated in caramel powder to keep it loose. The powder may be turned into lozenges &c. in the usual way. Suitable salts are magnesium stearate, calcium stearate, aluminium palmitate, aluminium elaidate but aluminium stearate is preferred. An example is given in which 1 per cent aluminium stearate is added to caramel powder immediately after grinding of the latter.
