titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to textile lubricating and anti-static compositions |
abstract | A lubricating and anti-static composition for application to threads of cellulose derivatives comprises lubricating oil, an alkylolamine sulphated oleyl alcohol or an alkylolamine sulphated oleic acid, and a partial ester of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid containing at least 10 carbon atoms. The lubricating oil may be a mineral oil, vegetable oil such as palm kernel or coconut oil, a saponifiable synthetic oil such as butyl acetyl ricinoleate, methyl oleate or ethyl laurate, or a mixture of such oils. The preferred alkylolamine is triethanolamine, and the partial ester may be, for example, diethylene, triethylene or pentaethylene glycol monolaurate, or sorbitan monolaurate. The composition may also contain an alkylolamine salt of a fatty acid containing at least 10 carbon atoms, such as triethanolamine oleate, stearate, laurate or palmitate, a small proportion of water or a polyhydric alcohol such as diethylene glycol or glycerol, an alcohol, preferably containing at least 8 carbon atoms, such as octyl, oleyl or stearyl alcohols, and a fugitive dye such as Disulphine Blue for identification purposes. Examples are given. Specifications 376,785, 388,427, 492,472, 550,195 and 574,072, and U.S.A. Specification 2,150,569 are referred to. The Provisional Specification also refers to a composition containing triethanolamine, sulphated oleic acid, oleyl alcohol, oleic acid, triethanolamine and a mineral oil.ALSO:A textile lubricating composition comprises lubricating oil, an alkylolamine sulphated oleyl alcohol or an alkylolamine sulphated oleic acid, and a partial ester of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid containing at least 10 carbon atoms.
