| abstract | Basic ethers are obtained by condensing metal derivatives of substances of the formula R.O.M, where R is aryl or aralkyl and M is an atom of monovalent metal, with substances of the formula <FORM:0662591/IV (b)/1> where Hal is chlorine or bromine and Y is an alkyl radical or the whole N(Y)2-group may be the residue of a secondary heterocyclic amine. The condensation may be effected at an elevated temperature in water - immiscible solvents. Detailed examples are given of the preparation of 1 - phenoxy - 2 - diethylamino - cyclohexane, 1 - thymoxy - 2 - diethylamino - cyclohexane, 1 - benzyloxy - 2 - diethylamino - cyclohexane, 1 - phenylcyclohexyloxy - 2 - diethylamino - cyclohexane and 1-benzhydryloxy-2-diethylamino-cyclohexane. |
