titleOfInvention | A process for washing with soap or soap-containing washing agents and hard water or sea water and washing agents for this purpose |
abstract | Soap or soap-containing washing-agents for use in hard water or sea water contain a proportion of a soluble fluoride or oxalate in such a form that the fluoride or oxalate dissolves prior to or for the greater part prior to the soap, and when dissolved, binds the cations of the substances causing the hardness of the water with the formation of non-ionized or little ionized products. Sodium fluoride and sodium oxalate are specified. Thus a granular or coarsely powdered soap is mixed with a finely powdered soluble fluoride or oxalate or granular soap is coated with a film of the soluble fluoride or oxalate. The proportions of the addition agents used are based on the hardness of the water. The soap-containing washing agents may include small quantities of the usual ingredients such as alkali carbonates, silicates, phosphates and per-salts. |
