titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to a method of applying a rendering of plaster-like material to structures |
abstract | A rendering of plaster-like material is applied to structural surfaces by spraying thereon a dispersion of the solid plaster ingredients in a preformed foam produced by the aeration of water containing a frothing agent, e.g. the sodium salts of naphthalene sulphate, sulphonates of polycyclic hydrocarbons or sulphated lauryl or cetyl alcohols. Cement, lime or calcium sulphate plaster with or without sand, exfoliated vermiculite, crushed pumice, cork, or asbestos in dry form, moistened or as a slurry is gradually mixed into the foamed water. The spraying apparatus may include a pressure pot provided with a floating disc to distribute the pressure evenly on the material. The rendering, which is cellular, may be applied to brick walls, concrete blocks, asbestos sheets, supported or unsupported expanded metal, wire netting or fabric. |
