titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to a process for the manufacture of agglomerated fuels and fuels derived therefrom |
abstract | 648,813. Fuel. VLOEBERGHS, A. May 20, 1946, No. 15144. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1939. [Class 50] An agglomerated fuel is made from a finely divided combustible base, e.g. anthracite, and binders comprising from 2 to 6 per cent waste sulphite lye from the manufacture of cellulose and from 1 to 3 per cent of a synthetic resin which is insoluble in water, preferably a condensation product of phenol with formaldehyde. The binders may be added to the base either separately or mixed. Hardening of the agglomeration is shortened by passing it through an oven in which is maintained a temperature of about 100‹C. |
