titleOfInvention | Azo dye compounds |
abstract | A monoazo dye is manufactured by coupling diazotized 4 - nitro - 2 - aminophenol - 6-sulphonic acid with 1 - phthaloylamido - 7-hydroxynaphthalene. The product may be converted in substance or on the fibre into metal complex compounds. It dyes wool black by the direct method, the dyeing becoming olive-black on after-chroming, whilst by the monochrome or metachrome process it gives a bright green dyeing. Wool fabrics containing effect fibres of cellulose acetate may be dyed by the after-chroming process without staining the effect fibres. |
