titleOfInvention Improvements in the colouration of polyamide fibres
abstract Nylon textiles are dyed with vat dyestuffs and then subjected to an after-treatment with an aqueous solution containing one or more benzene derivatives containing one hydroxy group or one carboxylic group or one of each group, e.g. a cresol, phenol, salicylic acid, m- or p-hydroxybenzoic acid, cinnamic acid, b -phenylpropionic acid or b -phenylpropiolic acid. The use of benzoic acid also is referred to in the Provisional Specification. In examples, nylon is (1) dyed with Caledon Yellow GN200 and after treated with a solution of cinnamic acid; (2) dyed as in (1) and after treated with a solution of salicylic acid; (3) dyed as in (1) and after treated with a solution containing cresylic acid and soap; (4) dyed as in (1) and after treated with a solution of b -phenylpropionic acid; (5) dyed as in (1) and after treated with b -phenylpropiolic acid; (6) dyed with Caledon Red Violet 2RNS and after treated with a solution of cinnamic acid; (7) dyed with Durindone Red 3BS and after treated with a solution of cinnamic acid, and (8) dyed with Soledon Yellow GS and after treated with a solution of salicylic acid. Specification 534,085 is referred to.
