abstract | Insulating layers for electrical conductors comprise a polyvinyl halide composition containing lead acetate. g -polyvinyl chloride and copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate or cyanide or vinylidene chloride are specified. The preferred amount of stabilizer is 3 to 6 per cent of the composition which may also contain plasticisers such as tricresyl phosphate, dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, o-ditolyl ether and butyl phthalyl butyl glycollate. Fillers, pigments, dyes, heat and light stabilizers may also be added. |
