titleOfInvention | A process for the manufacture of an injectable iron preparation |
abstract | An injectable iron preparation is obtained by preparing a solution of the ferric salt of a. g .-dihydroxy b .b . dimethyl butyric acid by a usual method, evaporating said solution to dryness in vacuo, dissolving in and recrystalising the residue from an organic solvent, and preparing a neutral aqueous solution therefrom. According to the example ferric sulphate solution is added to a solution to the barium salt of a. g .-dihydroxy-b .b .-dimethyl-butyric acid, barium sulphate removed and the solution evaporated in vacuo to give di-(a. g .-dihydroxy-b . b . dimethyl di-butyrato)-ferric acid from which the sodium salt can be prepared by neutralisation with sodium carbonate or bicarbonate. |
