In textile printing wherein the fabric being printed is separated from the impression cylinder by an impervious travelling blanket which is washed to remove surplus colour, passage of the washing-water behind the edges of the blanket is prevented by directing an air current outwardly from behind the blanket. As applied to the type of apparatus described in Specifications 564,565, 564,566 and 583,647 wherein a blanket 12 is washed by a water spray, brushed by rotary brushes and thereafter subjected to a wringing operation between a drum 13 and a squeeze roller 14, curved air jets 19 are provided projecting from a transverse pipe 18 situated near the bite of the rollers. |
