titleOfInvention Resinous copolymers
abstract A 2-halo allyl ester of a saturated monocarboxylic acid is copolymerized with a conjugated butadiene. Esters specified are 2-chloro- and 2-bromo-allyl formate, acetate, propionate, levulinate, 2-ethyl butyrate, 2-ethyl hexoate and chloro - acetate. Butadienes specified are butadiene-1,3. isoprene and 2,3-dimethyl butadiene-1,3. Polymerization is effected in aqueous emulsion in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. sodium perborate, a buffer solution, e.g. disodium hydrogen phosphate and citric acid, an emulsifying agent, e.g. of the sodium lauryl sulphate type and carbon tetrachloride, at 30 DEG to 80 DEG C.
