abstract 555,445. Medicinal preparations. SCHERING CORPORATION. Nov. 12, 1941, No. 14575. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1940. [Class 81 (i)] A medicinal hormone preparation is prepared by dissolving a steroid hormone such as oestradiol, testosterone, progesterone, oestrone, oestriol, or desoxycorticosterone or their esters or other derivatives, or other preparations having a sex hormone like action such as stilboestrol in propylene glycol or glycerol or a mixture thereof. If desired alcohol may be also added to the solvent to lower the surface tension of the solution and permit its more rapid absorption through the skin into the blood system. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 includes the following additional solvents, ethyl alcohol, butyl alcohol and tetrahydro furfuryl acetate.. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
