abstract | 533,917. Resinous polymerization products. UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CORPORATION. Aug. 21, 1939, No. 24013. Convention date, Aug. 22, 1938. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group VII] In sole-laying, a cement comprising polyvinyl resin is applied as a solution to the sole or shoe, allowed to dry, and then activated by heating to about 300‹F. prior to bringing the parts together. Suitable cements comprise (1) equal parts of the condensation product of vinyl acetate and butyraldehyde and shellac or the resin known under the Registered Trade Mark " Vinsol," 10 per cent. plasticizer, e.g. diphenyl benzyl benzoate and dibutyl phthalate, and ethyl alcohol, which may contain 3 per cent. benzol. (2) polyvinyl acetate, " Vinsol " and acetone and/or benzol. These cements soften at about 300‹F. and are substantially free from cold flow. Specifications 408,953, [Group VII], and 411,815, [Group III], are referred to. |
