abstract | Dried animal skim milk is used as a cosmetic, hair tonic or bath preparation. There may be added to it perfumes, preserving agents, skin nutrients, albumen-demolishing enzymes or buffer substances. It may be dissolved in aqueous or alcoholic liquids and the solution may be saponified with stearine in combination with caustic potash solution. The following substances are specifically mentioned: paraoxybenzoic acid, boric acid, salicylic acid, pepsine, the enzyme dosere rotundifolia, lecithin, "bromium," iodates, menthol, pine needle extract, wax, "spermacetite" and paraffin oil. |
