titleOfInvention | Process of colour photographic development |
abstract | 498,870. Colour photography. KODAK, Ltd. May 10, 1937, No. 24630/38. Convention date, May 9, 1936. Divided out of 500,826. [Class 98 (iii)] In a process of three-colour photography in which three colour-record silver salt images on a single support are processed to different colours, one of the records is converted into a dye image with a developing solution containing alkali, little or no sulphite, and a developing agent which forms a substituted lignone dye on development, the silver being subsequently removed without removing the dye. Two or more images may be so converted. The developing agent may be a phenol with both o-positions occupied by not readily oxidizable groups and with the p-position free or occupied by a readily displaceable group, a p-p-dihydroxy diphenyl with the o-positions occupied by not readily oxidizable . groups, or alpha-naphthols or their homologues having the 2- or 4 - position occupied by not, readily oxidizable groups and the 4- or 2- position free or occupied by a readily displaceable group. As examples, pyrogallol dimethyl ether, hydrocoerulignone, vic-mxylenol, o : o-dichlor, dibrom-, or di-iodophenol, tri-iodophenol, the monoalkyl ethers of 1:2- and 1: 4-dihydroxynaphthalene or dihydroxyanthracene, and 2-phenyl.- or tetramethoxy-alpha-naphthol. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 includes also the subjectmatter of Specification 500,826, as open to inspection under Sect. 91.
