titleOfInvention | A process for hydrolysing cellulosic bodies with hydrogen halides |
abstract | <PICT:0488897/III/1> In the hydrogen halide hydrolysis of cellulosic material, the material is suspended in a mixture of two or more low boiling point solvents which are in such proportions that the specific gravity of the mixture allows the material to float therein without flocculating or balling. Such a mixture may be 3 parts of benzine and 2 parts of carbon tetrachloride. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subject-matter of Specifications 21874/37 and 21873/37 and an apparatus, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), for carrying out the process comprising an inclined hydrolysis vessel a supplied with raw material at q, which, after hydrolysis is discharged at r into an after-treatment vessel s which feeds it into further after-treatment vessels v as described in Specification 21874/37. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
