titleOfInvention Improvements relating to the gluing together of the surfaces of porous materials
abstract In glueing porous materials, a porous surface is pattern printed with a semi-fluid aqueous protein adhesive in multitudinous small areas separated by intervening spaces, whereby, on placing this surface against another surface and applying pressure, the adhesive is distributed to the uncoated spaces to form a continuous film. The glue may be applied by means of grooved rollers, and may comprise oil-seed flour, casein, glue and blood albumen. Alkalis may be added, and also sodium silicate, carbon bisulphide and tetrachloride and pine oil. The materials treated may be paper, paper board, asbestos paper or wood plies.
