titleOfInvention | Improvements in the manufacture and production of pulverulent synthetic textile assisting agents |
abstract | Non-pulverable synthetic textile assisting agents containing at least one lipophilic radicle comprising an aliphatic group with at least 8 carbon atoms and at least one hydrophilic group are obtained in the form of powder by applying them in a finely divided state to fine powders and effecting intense mixing. Preferably the substances or solutions or dispersions of them are sprayed in a spray drier on to the powder, or together with a solution or dispersion of the powder. The expression "textile assisting agents" includes washing, wetting, softening, levelling, stripping, and dispersing agents. Specified examples are octylphenol polyglycol ether, 2-methyl-4-dodecylphenol polyglycol ether, triethanolamine monostearic acid ester, the reaction product of ethylene oxide and lauryl alcohol, the reaction product of ethylene oxide and isooctyl phenol, a tetradecylphenyl polyglycol ether, and a tridecylcresyl polyglycol ether. Also included are reaction products of amines with fatty acids or with high molecular alkyl halides, furthermore condensation products of alkylene imines or polymerized alkylene imines with fatty acids or high molecular alkyl halides and reaction products of high molecular alcohols wtih alkylene oxide. Suitable powdered materials are common salt, sodium sulphate, and urea. |
