titleOfInvention Improvements in or relating to cleansing compositions
abstract Disinfecting cleansing-compositions comprise one or more cleansing-agents having an alkaline reaction and one or more p compounds of the general formula R.X.R<1>, in which R signifies an aromatic radical containing at least two hydroxyl groups, X a carbonyl group, and R<1> an aliphatic radical having at least five carbon atoms. The aromatic radical may be mono- or polynuclear, may comprise an aromatic ring condensed with an alicyclic or heterocyclic ring, and may contain hydrocarbon radicals, ether groups or halogens as substituents. The aliphatic radical may contain ether groups, halogens or hydroxyl groups as substituents. The compounds may be employed in the form of alkali compounds and preferably do not contain carboxyl or sulphonic acid groups, either in the free or salt like form. Specified compounds are amyl-, heptyl-, nonyl-, undecyl-, or tridecyl- 2 : 4-dihydroxyphenyl ketones, the corresponding position isomers, products alkylated, e.g. methylated, in the nucleus, and derivatives of the various di- or trihydroxy naphthalenes. The agents having an alkaline reaction may be alkali hydroxides, carbonates, bicarbonates, silicates, borates, or aluminates, salts of phosphoric acids, ammonia, organic bases such as triethanolamine or aminopropandiol, or soluble salts of weak organic acids such as sodium acetate or soaps, e.g. resin or naphthene soaps. The compositions may contain also the aromatic compounds corresponding to the ketones containing two hydroxyl groups and which contain only one hydroxyl group, wetting agents and solvents, and may be in the solid form or in the form of aqueous solutions, creams or pastes. In examples, sodium metasilicate and trisodium phosphate are mixed with 2 : 4-dihydroxyphenylundecyl ketone or with 2 : 4-dihydroxyphenyltridecyl ketone and 4-hydroxy-3-methyl-phenyltridecyl ketone. Specification 427,147 is referred to.ALSO:Disinfecting cleansing-compositions comprise one or more cleansing-agents having an alkaline reaction and one or more compounds of the general formula R.X.R1, in which R signifies an aromatic radical containing at least two hydroxyl groups, X a carbonyl group, and R1 an aliphatic radical having at least five carbon atoms.
