titleOfInvention | Anti-rust coating agents containing chromium compounds |
abstract | Pigments, for incorporation in the usual media to form anti-rust coating-compositions, are obtained by binding aqueous solutions of chromic acid or chromates on adsorbing substances, drying and grinding. According to examples: (1) soot is stirred into a concentrated solution of potassium dichromate, the paste dried and ground, and the product incorporated in linseed oil or linseed oil varnish; (2) silica gel is mixed with an aqueous solution of sodium dichromate and potassium chromate, the mass dried at 70 DEG C. and ground, and then incorporated in linseed oil or linseed oil varnish; (3) an activated finely-powdered bleaching earth is introduced into an aqueous solution of potassium chromate. Iron oxide is then stirred in, and the thick mass is dried, ground, and incorporated in linseed oil or linseed oil varnish. |
