titleOfInvention | Improvements in synthetic plastic materials containing rubber or allied products |
abstract | Compositions containing rubber and synthetic resins are made by adding a solution of the resin in a volatile organic liquid (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate benzene or carbon tetrachloride) to a solution of rubber in the same or a different solvent, or to vulcanized or natural latex to which a volatile organic liquid has been added. The mass is dried either by heat or under reduced pressure. In some cases, e.g. when using vulcanized latex and acetone, much of the liquid may first be removed by filtration. The product may be powdered or disintegrated for use as a moulding powder; fillers may be added.ALSO:Compositions containing rubber and synthetic resins are made by adding a solution of the resin in a volatile organic liquid, (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride) to a solution of rubber in the same or a different solvent, or to vulcanized or natural latex to which a volatile organic liquid has been added.
