abstract | 434,074. Raising liquids by gas pressure. MEES, J. B. DE, 34, Rue du Transvaal, Berchem, Antwerp, Belgium. Jan. 24, 1935, No. 2354. [Class 102 (ii)] Water is admitted to the casing 1 by the valve 4 and is expelled through the pipe 8 by compressed air from the pipe 6. This supply of air is controlled by a slide valve 14 actuated by the piston 12. Air to the pipe 6 passes through the port 25 and through the adjustable plug 27. At the same time air from the chest 11 enters the righthand end of the cylinder 10 filling this space and a connected vessel provided with a vent so that after some delay the air pressure moves the piston 12 to the left against the weight 17 acting on the cam 19. The passage 26 now supplies air to a second chamber filled with water and the action is repeated on the reverse direction. |
