titleOfInvention | A process for the production of difficultly dissociable acyl derivatives of salicylic acid and its esters |
abstract | The diethylacetic and bromdiethylacetic esters of salicylic acid and its esters are prepared by reacting salicylic acid, its sodium salt or its esters with the halide or anhydride of diethylacetic or bromdiethylacetic acid. The products, which are dissociable only with difficulty, are useful therapeutically; they may be converted into their salts with inorganic and organic bases. Examples are given of the interaction of salicylic acid and its methyl or amyl ester with diethylacetyl chloride and bromdiethylacetyl chloride. The preparation of the sodium, calcium and quinine salts of diethylacetyl-salicylic acid is described. |
