titleOfInvention Improvements in dyeing acetyl-cellulose and mixed materials containing acetyl-cellulose
abstract Cellulose acetate, dyeing; dye preparations.--Acetylcellulose or a mixed material containing it is dyed in an acid bath, prepared with water of any hardness, by means of water-insoluble dyestuffs finely dispersed with a water-soluble condensation product (or a water-soluble salt thereof) from a b -halogen-derivative of ethane sulphonic acid or from isethionic acid, ethionic acid or carbyl sulphate and an aliphatic carboxylic acid or a halide thereof containing more than 8 carbon atoms in the molecule. The condensation products may be obtained as described in Specification 366,916. In an example, a mixed fabric of acetate artificial silk and natural silk is dyed with a preparation obtained by mixing a blue aminoanthraquinone dyestuff insoluble in water, e.g. Setacyl Direct Blue 2 GS, the condensation product from oleic acid chloride and isethionic acid, an acid wool azine dye, e.g. Novazol Blue B and Glauber salt. Specification 412,945 also is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of condensation products from hydroxy-, amino- or halogen-derivatives in general of ethane sulphonic acid and specifies taurine. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
