titleOfInvention | Process for the manufacture of complex double compounds of organic heavy metal mercapto compounds |
abstract | Double compounds of heavy metal organic mercapto compounds with inorganic sulphydryl compounds or organic mercapto compounds other than thiocarbohydrates are prepared by interaction of the two components in solution in water or organic solvents, such as alcohol and ethylene glycol. The products, which contain the components in molecular, usually equimolecular, proportions, possess therapeutic properties. Examples are given of the preparation of double compounds of (1) 1-aurothioglucose with sodium thiosulphate; (2) 1-auroor argento-thioglucose with sodium cystein; (3) 1-aurothioglucose with disodium 4-amino-2-mercaptobenzene-1-sulphonate or sodium thioacetate or potassium xanthogenate; (4) sodium 4 - amino - 2 - auromercaptobenzene - 1 - sulphonate with sodium thioglucose; (5) 4-amino-2-auromercaptobenzene-1-sulphonic acid, as the free acid or its sodium salt, with sodium thiosulphate; (6) silver thiogalactose (see Specification 386,562) with sodium thiosulphate; (7) antimony-3-thiocellobiose (see Specification 386,562) with disodium thiolactate; (8) sodium cuprothiolactate with sodium thiosulphate; (9) sodium 4-amino-2-argentomercaptobenzoic acid with sodium thiosalicylate. Specification 397,293 also is referred to. |
