titleOfInvention | Improvements in and relating to means for improving the properties of a ferromagnetic material |
abstract | 395,050. Coils. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Jan. 27, 1932, No. 2518. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1931. Drawings to Specification. [Class 35.] Coils for filters or grid transformers in amplifiers or other purposes involving weak alternating currents are magnetized by direct current during operation by the alternating current to such an extent that the permeability is reduced by about a half, which is stated to decrease the hysteresis losses. The direct current may be maintained constant by a hydrogen-iron resistance. The direct current may circulate in the same winding as the alternating current or in a separate winding, but in either case the direct-current source must be shielded.from the alternating current by filters or chokes. |
