titleOfInvention Improvements in the production of superimposed colloid layers
abstract In producing superimposed layers of colloid one at least of which is coloured, precipitation of the dyestuff in the solutions for producing the coloured layers, in the layers themselves, or at the boundaries between the layers is caused by the addition of a substance of contrary action. In one example, a silver emulsion layer is dyed with Chrysophenine G and Acridine Yellow G is added to it. When an uncoloured layer is applied to this layer no diffusion occurs. A second layer coloured with Benzo Light Red and Acridine Yellow may be applied. The Acridine Yellow may be omitted, an extra quantity being then applied to the first layer. The Acridine Yellow may also be replaced by Methyl Acridine.
