Convention date, Dec. 9, 1930. [Class 23.] A centrifugal separator for paper pulp &c. comprises a rotary bowl provided with a central feed pipe 3 and one or more circular concentric partitions 9, 10 which form separate conduits 12, 13, 14 for the components of the pulp, and are vertically adjustable from outside to vary the cross-sectional area of said conduits: In the form shown in Fig. 3, a single partition 27 is used, and is vertically adjustable in an annular channel 30 communicating with discharge pipes 32. The heaviest component of the pulp is retained by a fixed ring 39 in the bowl, another passes through the adjustable passage 35, while the lightest passes through ports 31 in the partition. |
