titleOfInvention Improvements in electric induction furnaces
abstract 362,134. Systems for supplying induction furnaces. DREYFUS, L. and ALLM€NNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Võsteras, Sweden. Nov. 17, 1930, No. 34596. [Class 38 (iv).] In a system wherein condensers 6 are arranged in parallel with the furnace 5, a condenser 2 is arranged in series with the generator 1 and is of such capacity as to compensate for the inductive voltage drop in the supply circuit, the drop occurring mainly in the generator. As shown, the number of condensers used is automatically regulated by a reactive power relay 7. In modifications the furnace is fed through a transformer. In one arrangement the reactive power relay regulates the tapping position of the connection to the condensers. In another arrangement it controls, through a reversible motor, an induction regulator arranged to vary the voltage applied to the furnace, the condensers, or both.
