abstract | 360,876. Delustring artificial silk. NYANZA COLOR & CHEMICAL CO., Inc., 215, Water Street, New York, U.S.A. May 7, 1930, No. 14037. Convention date, May 11, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 120 (iii).] Artificial silk is delustred by treating with an emulsion containing an abrasive material in suspension. An emulsion formed by adding 4 parts of paraffin to a heated mixture of 10 parts of green olive oil soap and 10 parts of medium white glue dissolved in 100 parts of water is preferably used, in the proportion of 2¢ parts of the emulsion to 100 parts of water, and to this is added 5 to 10 lbs. of infusorial earth, chalk, kaolin, fuller's earth or zinc oxide. The temperature is maintained at 95-100‹ F., and the artificial silk in skein form is treated in the mixture for about 15 minutes. Specification 315,432, [Class 120 (iii), Yarns &c.), is referred to. |
