titleOfInvention Process for the manufacture of complex salts
abstract Water soluble complex salts of calcium with the disulphonic acids of pyrocatechol and hydroxy-substitution products thereof are manufactured by causing a solution of an alkali salt of the said acids to react with a calcium salt soluble in water and neutralizing the product with a solution of a caustic alkali or with calcium hydroxide, or by treating a solution of the alkali sulphonate with an acid and then neutralizing with calcium hydroxide. The products possess therapeutic properties. In Examples: (1) sodium pyrocatechol disulphonate is treated with calcium chloride and then with caustic soda solution; (2) the same compound is treated with hydrochloric acid followed by milk of line and (3) with calcium chloride and then with milk of lime; (4) the calcium chloride of (3) is replaced by calcium nitrate; (5) sodium pyrogallol disulphonate is treated with hydrochloric acid and then with milk of lime.
