abstract A reaction product of cyclohexylamine and an aldehyde may be obtained by adding the aldehyde slowly to the amine without the use of solvent and cooling meanwhile, the water being then evaporated, whereupon the turbid compound becomes clear. Alternatively, the aldehyde and amine in a solvent such as alcohol or alcohol and water may be heated under reflux for several hours, the product being washed with water and dried. Aldehydes specified are aldol, butyraldehyde, crotonaldehyde, heptaldehyde, acetaldehyde and formaldehyde.ALSO:A reaction product of cyclohexylamine and an aldehyde preferably an open chain, saturated or unsaturated aldehyde is used as an accelerator for rubber vulcanization. It is stated that the rubber also resists the action of oxygen, light, &c. Aldehydes specified are aldol, butyraldehyde, crotonaldehyde, heptaldehyde, acetaldehyde and formaldehyde. The condensation may be effected by adding the aldehyde slowly to the amine without the use of solvent and cooling meanwhile, the water being then evaporated, whereupon the turbid compound becomes clear. Alternatively the aldehyde and amine in a solvent such as alcohol or alcohol and water may be heated under reflux for several hours, the product being washed with water and dried.
