Metal polishes consist of tin, antimony, silver, mercury, silver oxalate, oatmeal, whiting, putty powder, aluminium chloride, rose-pink, limeblue, and perfume in a vehicle of paraffin oil, paraffin wax, and beeswax, or of glycerine, water, and laid. They are said to give a lasting silver effect to brass or copper and to render steel rustless. |
