titleOfInvention Manufacture of colour lakes
abstract 318,834. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Sept. 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Samples furnished. Lakes.-Basic dyestuffs are precipitated as. colour lakes from aqueous solutions, in the presence or absence of a substratum, by means of naphthalene sulphonic acids, anthracene sulphonic acids or other sulphonic acids further substituted in the nucleus or hydrogenated derivatives thereof (excluding dyestuffs). According to an example a solution of Crystal violet is added to aluminium hydroxide, freshly prepared from aluminium sulphate by means of sodium carbonate, in the presence of dibutyl naphthalene sulphonic acid; and in a further example, a solution of Victoria blue is precipitated by means of dibutyl naphthalenesulphonic acid. Specifications 28741/13 and 173,881 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under- Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following examples, (1) an aqueous solution of Fuchsine, in the. presence of aluminium hydroxide, freshly prepared from a solution of the sulphate by addition of calcined sodium carbonate, is precipitated by means of benzene sulphonic acid, p-brombenzene sulphonic acid, 1-nitroanthraquinone-5- sulphonic acid or 1 : 5-anthra.quinonedisulphonic acid; (2) a solution of Victoria blue is precipitated by means of a solution of benzenesulphonic acid, p-toluenesulphonic acid, alpha-naphthalenesulphonic acid, 1 : 5-anthracenedisulphonic acid, tetrahydronaphthalene-#-sulphonic acid, or 1- nitroanthracene-5-sulphonic acid; (3) an aqueous solution of Methyl violet is precipitated in the presence of aluminium hydroxide prepared as in (1) above, by means of naphthalenesulphonic acid or dibutylnaphthalenesulphonic acid. #-naphthalenesulphonic acid, 1:5- naphthalenedisulphonic acid, isopropylnaphthalenesulphonic acid, dibenzylnaphthalenesulphonic acid and hydrogenated derivatives thereof are also specifically mentioned as precipitants, and barytes. clay. kaolin and blanc-fixe as substrata. Auramine, Chrysoidine, Rhodamine, New fuchsine, Methylene blue, Brilliant green and Vesuvin are additional examples of basic dyes that may be used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Specifications 28741/13 and 173,881 are referred to.
