Resins.-The process of converting low grade resins into high grade products as described in the parent Specification, in which low grade resins are dissolved in gasoline or the like and colouring bodies are removed by furfural, is modified by removing the colouring bodies by means of a phenol, a chlorhydrin, furfuralcohol, sulphur dioxide, or alkaline. Suitable agents are ordinary phenol, which may be aqueous, and ethylene or propylene chorhydrin. Examples of the use of each agent or class of agent are given, the details being similar to those described in the parent Specification with reference to furfural.
