titleOfInvention | Process for treating miller's wheat in order to eliminate the wild garlic it contains |
abstract | 260,283. Patrouilleau, L. G. Oct. 22, 1925. [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Treating with gases; treatment by damping; scouring.-Wild garlic is removed from millers' wheat before grinding by subjecting the wheat to a cleaning operation effected by a strong current of air and centrifugal action, the dust being thus removed and the husks of the garlic cloves broken. The wheat is then subjected to the action of a current of nitrogen peroxide or other oxidizing agent that converts allyl sulphide from the garlic into sulphoxide which is removed later by washing. |
