titleOfInvention Improvements in or relating to containers for communication devices
abstract The invention relates to a container for a communication device which is connected to an antenna, e.g. as part of a cellular network. The container includes a central walled section (referred to as a “housing”) which surrounds at least one mounting plate suitable for supporting an electrical device. A top edge of the housing is received within a recess in a top plate and a bottom edge of the housing is received within a recess in a bottom plate. The top and bottom plates are clamped to seal the housing. The container is weatherproof. In preferred embodiments the clamp takes the form of a plurality of rigid shafts which each extend through apertures in the top and bottom plates. Lock nuts are screwed onto threaded ends of the shafts to compress gaskets in the recesses. Deformable bushings may be used. In some embodiments the container is connected to a sea borne infrastructure such as buoy. Heat sinks are claimed, as are communication systems and fault sensors. In a different invention (Fig. 3) a domed housing is clamped onto a base by a clip.
