titleOfInvention Fertilizer particles comprising iron
abstract The present invention relates to an iron chelate component dissolved in a solvent wherein the solvent is selected from the group of glycols, glycol ethers and mixtures thereof. The composition is used as a coating agent for fertiliser particles and in one embodiment the composition is a liquid and further comprises urea. Also provided is a fertiliser particle comprising a core and an outside layer of a conditioning agent comprising the iron chelate component dissolved in a solvent of glycols and/or glycol ethers, wherein the solvent represents 30-90 wt% of the conditioning agent. There is also a method of manufacturing the fertiliser particles by applying the conditioning agent to a fertiliser particle. Preferably the conditioning agent comprises urea, an anti-foam agent, and an acid such as citric acid or malic acid. The conditioning agent may be essentially water free. The iron chelating component may preferably be FeEDDHA or FeHBED and the solvent may preferably be monolethylene glycol, diethylene glycol or diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.
