abstract | A method of assembling an apparatus 110 for containing reagents for a chemical reaction comprising [a] a receptacle 114 comprising a plastics material, wherein the receptacle 114 defines an internal volume for containing reagents, the receptacle 114 optionally includes a first end and a second end spaced apart along the elongate receptacle 114, wherein the receptacle 114 defines a mouth at second end and optionally the diameter of the mouth is greater than the diameter of a region of the receptacle 114 inwards of the second end; [b] selecting a housing 112 for containing the receptacle 114; [c] optionally with the receptacle 114 within the housing 112 such that the second end of the receptacle 114 is adjacent to the second end of the housing 112 positioning the second end of the receptacle over the outwardly facing surface; and [d] optionally securing the second end and the of the receptacle 114 in position relative to the outwardly facing surface. The elongate housing 112 may include a cooling means 116, and end fittings 118, 120 which may include ports where fluids may be introduced and/or removed. Also disclosed is an elongate receptacle 114 for containing reagents for a chemical reaction, the elongate receptacle 114 comprising a plastics material, wherein the receptacle defines an internal volume for containing reagents, the receptacle 114 optionally includes a first end and a second end spaced apart along the said elongate receptacle 114, wherein the receptacle 114 defines a mouth at second end and optionally the diameter of the mouth is greater than the diameter of a region of the receptacle inwards of the second end. |
