A method of treating (i.e. fracturing for the purposes of stimulating hydrocarbon production) a subterranean formation comprising contacting the formation with; a) ammonium sulfamate; b) an oxidizing agent selected from a perchlorate or a nitrite (preferably sodium nitrite) or combinations thereof, and, optionally an acid (which may be sulfamic acid, ammonium bisulfate or a combination thereof). Second and third aspects are directed towards; a composition for treating a subterranean formation, and use of the composition according to the second aspect, respectively. |
