titleOfInvention Electro-optic photoreactive raster or vector beam scanner for highlight projectors
abstract A laser beam 2 emitted from a first laser light source is incident on a first electro-optic crystal 1 exhibiting the Kerr or Pockel effect, passes through a half-wave plate 18 and is incident on a second electro-optic crystal 11 exhibiting the Kerr or Pockel effect, after emerging from the second electro-optic crystal the beam is directed through at least one optical component 20 towards a projection screen; voltages applied to the crystals are controlled to generate a laser beam spot that is directed to any position on the projection screen. In some embodiments the projection screen may be a 2D projection screen. In some embodiments the laser beam spot may display highlighting for a projected image. The projected image may be projected by a separate projector or be processed along a second optical path. The beam leaving the electro-optic crystal may be incident on a spatial light modulator.
